Turning off iPhone X, Xs, Xs Max, or iPhone XR requires the combination of two buttons. It’s no longer solely dependent on the Power ON/OFF button.

First things first, restarting and force restarting (which is also known as a hard reset) are two different things. While the former is a normal process, the latter is very handy for fixing some miscellaneous issues like app freezing. Step #1. First off, you need to press and hold the Side button and either volume button until you see “slide to power off” slider.

Step #2. Now, you have to drag the slider to turn off your iPhone.

To turn On your iPhone, press and hold the Side button again until Apple logo appears on the screen.

To restart your iPhone 8/8 Plus or other iOS devices, just press and hold the ON/OFF button and then slide to power off. When your device is switched off, press and hold the power button again to restart your device.

Step #1. Launch Settings app on your iPhone → Tap on General.

Step #2. Now, you need to scroll down and tap on Shut Down.

To turn On your iPhone, press and hold the side button.
